GIUNEAS WEEKEND AT NEWMARKET
Here in France it is a Bank Holiday today so there will be very little open - the French have there bank holidays on what ever day it lands - so unfortunatley for me there is no rest on Monday.
The flat really kicks into gear today with the first of ther classics the 2000 Guineas.
I cannot go for the favourite although he is likely to be well prepped for this race instead I am going to take two horses that finished behind him last year
ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL - I was impressed by this horse in the Craven and although he can take a while to find his stride I have a feeling this race should suit him. This ground will not ba a problem and has also run well on good and GTS ground.
AL ZIR - from the S Bin Suroor stable that had such a good start in France last weekend - this horse was impressive on first two starts last year and was a good third on last race lastr season. If he has improved could run a big race.
I am hopeful that in the 4.15 Newmarket that Michael Stoute may have eeked out some more improvement from RACY. The horse ran well on his final start finishing fourth in a decent race and I expect him to run well here.
Back tomorrow for the 1000 Guineas
Have a good Bank Holiday Weekend
